ODONA SCHOLARSHIPS The following scholarships were awarded at the Awards Dinner during this year's ODONA Convention in March. The scholarships are: The ODONA LTC Scholarship is awarded to current ODONA members who have been working in Long Term Care for a minimum of one year. The scholarship is intended to support the mission of ODONA in assisting members in continuing formal education related to the role of the Director of Nursing. It is the goal of ODONA to award one scholarship in each of the state's five regions annually. Awarded to Beanne Clipper at the 2010 Convention The ODONA Nursing Assistant Scholarship is available to STNA's in homes where the DON is an ODONA member. This was established to acknowledge the many individuals wishing to become Long Term Care nurses and recognizing the shortage of nurses in the industry. Awarded to Heather Artrip at the 2010 Convention. The ODONA LPN to RN Transition Scholarship is available to LPN's in homes where the DON is an ODONA member. This was established with the goal of creating a larger pool for future DON's and recognizing the shortage of DON's in the industry. Awarded to Jessica Dick, Ozzie Hairston, and Kimberly Harris at the 2010 Convention. Scholarship applications may be submitted at any time and are reviewed on February 1st each year, and presented at the Annual ODONA Convention.
