Peggy Kish, RN, President

Peggy Kish is a RN with over 19 years experience in Long Term Care.  Peggy has worked as a Nurse Aide, LPN, and a RN. During this time

she has held titles of Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, Case Manager, and RN Supervisor.

She is currently the Clinical Service Director for the Zandex Corporation in Zanesville that operates seven long-term care facilities and two assisted-living facilities; giving her vast experience with the MDS, Survey Process, and Risk Management.  She is a Program Coordinator for Nurse Aide Training Competency Evaluation Program, is Resident Assessment Certified for the MDS process, President of the Ohio Directors of Long Term Care Administration, and also has served as a nurse consultant for a law firm using her comprehensive knowledge within her nursing background.

Peggy enjoys being involved in OHCA Facility Standards Committee and Council of Nurses.

Katie Sorrell, Recording and Corresponding Secretary  

Katie Sorrell graduated from Ohio University in 1993 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. She obtained her Associate Degree in Registered Nursing in 1996. Her experience has been mostly in long term care with positions including Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, and MDS Coordinator. In 1998, she received her Train the Trainer from the Alliance Training Center and obtained the position of Staff Development and Program Coordinator of the Nurse Aide Training Program for a long term care facility where she later moved into the Assistant Director of Nursing position.

 Katie also has a certification in intravenous therapy and worked for a specialized infusion company for four years. Katie moved back to long term care and obtained a position as Corporate Staff Development Consultant and later moved into the position of Clinical Services Consultant.

Katie is currently employed by Zandex Health Care Corporation as their Corporate Staff Development/Education Nurse.

Rhonda Thomas, Treasurer

Rhonda started her career in the medical field as a Nursing Assistant in 1981 in Steubenville, Ohio. While she was working as a nursing assistant, she went to Jefferson Technical College to obtain her license as a practical nurse. As a LPN, she continued to work for the same Long Term Care facility that she did as a NA. She worked as a charge nurse and a QA coordinator.

After 10 years and having 3 children, the opportunity opened for her to go back to school to obtain her RN license. In 1996, she graduated from West Virginia Northern Community College with her Associates Degree in Nursing. It was then that she switched from working in LTC to Mental Health. She worked as a Case Manager for a Partial Hospitalization Program until 1999 when she moved with her family to Columbus, Ohio.

In Columbus, she went back into LTC. She worked for several facilities and held multiple positions as a RN. These positions included: QA coordinator, Unit Manager, ADON and DON. She eventually became a Corporate Clinical Consultant and worked in that capacity for 7 years until recently. In October of 2013, she became a Behavioral Health nurse for Southeast, Inc.
